Not so free to choose

The latest news on Christians under attack from Islamic legal systems is here.

The article is talking about two Afghani’s who are facing the death penalty because they converted to Christianity. Most illuminating is the quote below…

“They are accused of conversion to another religion, which is considered a crime under Islamic law. If proved, they face the death penalty or life imprisonment,” Mr Quraishi said.

It would seem Islamic law is not particularly tolerant. We would be wise to remember this next time someone who means well raises the issue of implementing Sharia Law Courts for Islamic Australians.

The most tolerant thing we could do is oppose the introduction of Islamic Law in any capacity within our nation. After all, if we espouse freedom of religion for all, including those of the Islamic faith, we must all be free to choose.
